Welcome from CEO Jeff Gordon of Texas Coastal Energy and Blue Rock Ventures

Welcome!
This site will be a forum for tips and guidance on alternative asset investments – what they are, information on various types of nontraditional investments and more.  This site will be moderated by Jeff Gordon, CEO of Texas Coastal Energy and Blue Rock Ventures.

Coming from a family with three generations in the oil business, Mr. Gordon built Texas Coastal Energy from a three man team to a multi-million dollar exploration and production (E&P) company in less than 3 years. Today, Texas Coastal Energy has offices in Dallas, Los Angeles, and New York; and has successful drilling operations in three states. In his role as CEO, Mr. Gordon is responsible for supervising the Company’s overall operations, devising its ongoing corporate strategy and development, and managing the Company’s dynamic growth.

Mr. Gordon’s expertise in oil field operations, drilling, and geology has enabled Texas Coastal Energy Company to drill over 5 wells in the first half of 2013 alone, with many more wells permitted and scheduled to be drilled over the next 12 months. Mr. Gordon’s ability to identify, research, and diligence niche opportunities in oil and gas—and then to successfully negotiate the sourcing of those deals—has led Texas Coastal Energy to secure some of the most sought after leases throughout the southern United States.

Prior to Texas Coastal Energy, Mr. Gordon worked for Hoyos Group (now Stanley Black & Decker), where he headed its international consulting efforts with some of the largest banks in the world, including Citibank, HSBC, and Bank of America. Prior to Hoyos Group, Mr. Gordon worked for Inmatrix (now Sungard), where he served as a consultant to several prominent global energy companies, including BP, ExxonMobil, and Chevron. Previously, he began his professional career in finance. Mr. Gordon attended Texas A&M’s Undergraduate Business school and majored in finance.

Mr. Gordon’s broad experience in consulting—at the intersection of the energy and finance industries—led him to observe (and advise on) a variety of business models; taking careful note of those that were the most effective and profitable. He has applied this experience to Texas Coastal Energy, enabling it to become a very successful boutique energy firm with a diverse base of highly satisfied partner-clients.
